So if I try downloading any nVidia, EVGA or other update type file Windows blocks the file. I tell it to execute anyways and I get invalid file error of some type. In the z390 bios file I just downloaded, in file manager it says its 13,788 KB in the zip, but windows says there are no files within it to extract. If I use my windows surface tablet to download these files, then transfer them to my PC, they will run and install normal. If I use the z390 system to download an app or program, they work directly; even one I just did that was 1.4 GB.
Was thinking mem was running too fast, put things back to factory speeds and it did not change. Using Chrome or Edge browser does not matter. Even killed System Mechanic with no help. Still trying to figure out is it hardware or software? Just seems so strange it's an update type only.
