The Witcher 3's "NextGen" mod will make the game look better than ever | OC3D News (overclock3d.net)

If you are playing The Witcher 3 on PC, you need to install Halk Hogan's HD Reworked Project. Simply put, this mod takes The Witcher 3 and brings it into the Ultra HD era, offering gamers higher quality textures and improved models across most areas of the game. This mod is a must-download for gamers with modern graphics hardware. Now, Halk Hogan is taking his HD Reworked Project (HDRP) to the next level, revealing "The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen", which will offer gamers enhanced models and textures for many areas of the game.

In the preview video below, Halk Hogan showcases many of his "NextGen" improvements for The Witcher 3, which includes reworked models and textures for The Witcher 3's foods, markets and animals. When combined with his prior work on The Witcher 3, these changes have a transformative impact on The Witcher 3's visuals. With Halk Hogan's HD Reworked Project NextGen, The Witcher 3's visuals will no longer be held back by poor textures or low detail models.

In a post on his latest video, Halk Hogan has stated that he is "waiting for a response from CDPR regarding possible cooperation (or something)" for The Witcher 3's next-generation updates for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Such a partnership could see Halk Hogan's upgraded textures and models become an official art of The Witcher 3 on next-generation systems, which we feel would be a great thing for PC and console gamers alike.

Right now, Halk Hogan's HD Reworked Project for The Witcher 3 is the closest thing to an Ultra HD remaster that PC gamers currently have access to. If you want to relay The Witcher 3 before the game's official next-generation update, you should download Halk Hogan's latest HDRP version, which is available through Nexus Mods. The Witcher 3 HDRP NextGen will be released sometime in early-mid 2021. Halk Hogan's The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project NextGen will make the game look better than it ever has before. Good luck to Halk Hogan and his continued modding efforts. We hope that CD Projekt Red responds to your emails.

The improved textures look really good as compared to the original. Video provided below.

If I remember correctly didn’t CD Project Red already say a 4K remaster is coming in the spring to PS5 and XBSX? Also it will have a PC update to textures and add ray tracing. Basically it sounds like the improvements we saw to the engine for Cyberpunk 2077 are being brought into Witcher 3. Personally I will wait for that since they said it would be a free upgrade for owners of the game on PC.

Thanks for the heads up.  I haven't played one of the DLCs yet.  So, I can enjoy it with the updated graphics.

Let's hope it doesn't take as long as Quake II did to add Ray tracing

Do you know if they're working on that concurrently with CP2077 or if they're going to sort out that mess before moving onto CP2077 DLC and Witcher 3 updates?

I did hear that CD project red was hacked, and they got data for cyberpunk and a new version of the witcher 3, the new version I'm assuming is the RTX/HDR update that was mentioned, so by that note I'm guessing they are moving forward with the new witcher 3 version, though I can't say how fast, or if they pulled people from it for cyberpunk and all.

Graphics are a carrot and stick chasing thing. There'll never be a satisfactory setting. Always more, faster, better.

Whoa, this looks awesome! Definitely been while since I've been on NexusMods. At least a year or two...or five...
