I've been loving my block. Running problem free for a few months now but the only issue I have is the LED's. Have it plugged into my motherboard and the EK logo lights up and can be controlled no problem but I can't make the LED's on the block work or be controlled. Any idea why?

When I install the EK waterblock and active backplate on my FTW3 3090, do I use the included thermal pads by EK, or should I use another brand, and thickness?

So EK just told me I cannot use the FTW3 water block in horizontal position in a O11 XL Dynamic case because I won't be able to put the side panel on then, block is too big.

This sux big time. I really wanted the case, and I don't want to resort to vertical mounting.

I have the EKWB waterblock on a 3090 FTW3 in an OL11XL case in a horizontal position FWIW. Side panel goes on just fine.

Will move it to vertical when the active backplate comes in.

RTX 3070 XC3 Ultra with EKWB Vector also fits inside O11 Dynamic horizontally with side panel on if anyone wondering.

Lol then **** did a EK rep tell me it won't fit?

But their cooling configurator says I can, gave me both the waterblock and active backplate as compatible with the O11 XL Dynamic in the EK cooling configurator results.

So confusing.

But since you guys say you done it, and the configurator says I can, then I am going to assume I can do it and that the EK rep was incorrect when he said it won't fit.

So I will go ahead purchase them.

It's tight. A few millimeters. But I will also tell you that part of the reason I'm gonna transition to a vertical mount is because I feel that big horizontal slab ain't great for airflow through the case (my bottom rad fans are effectively blocked by it). I'm hoping that turning it vertically will result in more air reaching the interior of the case.

We'll see how it works out.

Ok fair point.

Also, it might be the fact that I chose the active backplate, but the configurator results in the normal backplate, so that is probably why the EK rep said it won't fit. The rep must be talking about the active backplate not fitting, having those extra terminals sticking out I guess?

That might be. I don't have the active backplate yet. Hoping it ships next week (that's when I'll rebuild. I'll try to measure whether it will fit horizontally).

Screw it, sounds like I may have to go vertical mount if I want the active backplate.

Or I may chose the Corsair 5000X case and the channelz side distro plate, if the EK active backplate on a FTW3 will fit horizontally.
