To start off, this isn't so much an EVGA issue per se but of performance in general. I've not really been a proponent of SSD RAID these days as I never saw the point since they're so insanely fast anyhow but out of curiosity I recently I put a pair of Samsung 970 EVO Plus's in my Asus laptop (Scar 17) which has 3x M.2 slots in a RAID-0 config, also have a Samsung 960 EVO in the 3rd for general archiving which was retired from my prior EVGA Z390 setup. Anyhow my initial benchmarks from within Samsung's Magician revealed some interesting findings below, would like to know why the RAID-0 970 Plus's Random IOPS are halved from a single 960? I'm running a standard 64K stripe and the Sequential writes are what you'd expect, nearly double but as for the rest this is where I'm quite frankly not quite sure what to make of it.

I have 2 Samsung 960 Pro 512gb in raid 0 in my current desktop and they are blazing fast. I am in the middle of a new build with 2 samsung 980 pro 1tb in raid 0. You would have to make sure both slots are X4 compatible and that they don't share PCIX with a graphics card or something else. Alot of motherboards cut the speed to 2x when running two M.2 drives, which will drop the performance. But running two or more on a MB that supports full speed is crazy fast!

I have 2 Samsung 960 Pro 512gb in raid 0 in my current desktop and they are blazing fast. I am in the middle of a new build with 2 samsung 980 pro 1tb in raid 0. You would have to make sure both slots are X4 compatible and that they don't share PCIX with a graphics card or something else. Well, I completely overlooked this fact and I just checked and my Asus laptop manual mentions this: NOTE: The M.2 2280 slot II supports PCIe (NVMe) SSD while slot I and slot III support both PCIe (NVMe) SSD and SATA SSD. The RAID setup resides in Slots 1&2, 960 is in 3, wondering if I remove the 960 then it'll retain full speeds...

Yea but what does it say about the X speed, is it full X4 in both slots, or doe it knock them down to X2 or X1??????

I contacted support and looked over their docs again and all 3 are x4... here are my Intel 660p drives in RAID-0

here are my Intel 660p drives in RAID-0
I understand they are all x4 slots, but do they down scale the speed if you are using all three slots, or does something else share the bus with the slots? That will tell you if its being down scaled, should be in the bios.

Raid 0 NVMe will usually take a hit in 4K speeds vs. a single drive. Then in sequential with fast drives, you won't get any more top end speed because of chipset 4x PCIe lane limits. However, their composite benchmark's will be about the same because of the raid handling high que depth random better. You setup is functioning properly imho. If you want the quickest 4K access for an OS drive, you can try a 905P Optane M.2 drive, if it will fit.
