If we are running low on the model you sent in for warranty rather than having you wait, our policy is designed to offer you the next model that we do have available in stock based on equal or greater performance. EVGA will not downgrade your product's performance,

With this statement in mind, my original card I purchased was a 1080 Ti SC2 w/ICX technology. I had to RMA it for artifacting. I was given a 2080 FTW3 Ultra w/ICX2 as a replacement. Basically a side grade and after a while, I was getting intermittent artifacts, hanging on loading vbios and occasional blank screens. I set up a cross ship RMA since I can still use the card. Once it has a clean boot, works without issue. I just got my shipping notification and I was sent a 2080 Super XC Ultra but this card does not have ICX technology. Wouldn't this be a downgrade or is ICX not taken into consideration?

From a value proposition maybe? A FTW3 is worth more than an XC Ultra...

Initial Warranty is from the 1080Ti ..... that is the benchmark to meet or beat

No argument that "some" models have "more features & initially Cost more"

Yes, that is true, the initial card is a 1080 Ti and a SC2, not a FTW either. My initial build was water cooled with 2 1080 Ti in SLI and the FTW HC models would not physically fit in the case I had at the time. I wouldn't have been able to put the side panel on nor would they fit into the O11 Dynamic I have now. I had to get the SC2 for fitment purposes but I also wanted the "features", features I evidently aren't going to have anymore. Because they sent me a FTW3 Ultra, I was forced to buy a vertical mount kit which was $50, It's disappointing but if features are not something they consider when deciding on a RMA replacement, then nothing I can do.

Unfortunately, when you get a RMA, you are getting someone else's problem. I'm not sure how thoroughly these cards are tested before they are sent back out into the wild. The card I will be sending back has intermittent issues, if it works properly when they test it, it will be repackaged and sent back out for the next person to deal with it. Hopefully you get it sorted.

Yea I did mention this to evga but they still sent a refurbished card what a nightmare this has become , there’s no new 2080ti’s available and they won’t upgrade me because I bought from ebay even though it was a new gpu
i won’t be making that mistake again in hurry , never knew evga’s policy on eBay gutted to say the least

My RMA card is arriving today. I am hoping it's not like your horror stories. It's 16 Eur every time I have to send them a card back. My card was bought just as a placeholder until a 3080 is available from them in the Step-Up.

I just look at the Super part and would say a 2080 Super would probably beat a 2080 with a better cooler like the FTW.

True however, aesthetics are a factor in my builds. Look how nice the FTW3 looks in this case. The size fills this area nicely. The XC will look small, inferior, insignificant.

I did notice that the card worked fine after being reseated for a time then I would experience random issues after a while. I also placed my other 1080 Ti and ran it for a week with no issues. I put the 2080 in and in a day or 2, these problems return. This card is very heavy and I noticed it would sag towards the back quite a bit. I placed a foam support and I haven't had any issues since. I am now wondering if it was lifting up just enough out of the PCIe slot to cause these intermittent issues...

The replacement card arrives Friday so if I don't have any issues by the time it arrives, I'll contact EVGA and see what they want to do.
