I just bought a 220-GA-0850-RX (b-stock of the 850GA). The listing states, "B-Stock Products are units which may have small scratches, small dents, or noticeable use. B-Stock products are Factory Recertified to meet the performance and reliability of a new product of the same model."
Do these have this defect? If they do, I do not wish to purchase the product. I don't care about the rest. I will be using this with an Nvidia GTX 3080 so I need it to work with my AMD 9500x and 3080 combo. 850 watts is overkill for this setup... and I will be disabling the eco mode (NEVER USE THIS MODE...on pretty much anything.)
As far as EVGA customer service, they are the best on the planet from my experience so I have no idea what some other guys are talking about... imagine being concerned about getting an upgrade as a replacement?? The way they handled the 3090 recalls was exemplary, and every manufacturer on the planet has issues from time to time.
Also, the comment earlier about buying cheap power supplies... I agree, never cheap out on power supplies when it comes to your system. That being said, you DO NOT need the top-end, 1000watt plus power supplies. 80+ bronze would work just fine for my pc....but I would rather have the 850 GA with all jap caps. The 'B' grade power supplies are a fantastic buy for same quality and I have used them many times for my builds with no issues.
