I seem to have an issue with new evga rtx 3070 black with crashing after wake up from sleep. The issue only presents itself when setting custom fan curve. Seems either x1 or afterburner it has same issue. With no custom curve the pc wakes up just fine.

PC specs- ryzen 3600, vengance lpx 3200 ram, evga rtx 3070 black, 750 watt corsair psu, latest 457.30 game ready driver.

A new thread would be good instead of posting in someone else's. For starters, there are quite a few new motherboard BIOS updates for that board - have you updated recently? There are some stability updates that will be included in the latest (just be sure to load BIOS defaults before flashing the new BIOS - it helps avoid weird problems): https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B550M-PRO-VDH-WIFI

A few other folks had similar issues. Closing out the program before sleep seems to clear it. Also, newer PX1 versions (1.1.1 being the lastest) supposedly addressed some sleep issues. Make sure you are on 1.1.1, and if so - you might need an uninstall of PX1 (and AB), a restart, and then a reinstall. Also - only use one OC program at a time because both open can cause funky things to happen.

Also, it might not hurt to check and see if your motherboard has any new BIOS updates as well. You didn't list it, so I couldn't check to see if there is a recent one out.

My 3080 xc3 black does this if i overclock too high, although having a custom fan curve doesn't make it happen. My guess is this info will not help you but I thought I'd try!

Just wanted to say that I have been having the same issues with crashes when waking from sleep if I have either X1 or Afterburner running when it goes to sleep (with a 3080 FTW3). Tried doing all the uninstalling, restarting, and reinstalling of drivers and X1, but haven't had any luck. Saw in another thread that rolling back to driver 456.71 solved this problem for them, so loaded that in today and we'll see if that helps at all

Well I think I solve the issue with mine. I have Msi afterburner installed also have x1 1.1.1 and it seems turning off monitoring options on MSI afterburner seems to have helped and no more crashes. Hope someone else finds this helpful. Thank you all for your advice!

Just an update, it seems Nvidia has acknowledged the BSOD upon waking from sleep issue with their current drivers on their forums. So hopefully they'll fix this in the next driver update, I'm currently running the 456.71 drivers and don't have the issue even when running X1.

I've been having similar problem on an FE 3070, running a slight overclock via MSI Afterburner 4.6.3 Beta 3 (issue also occurred w/ Beta 2). Issue occurred less, but still occasionally when running stock settings & fan. Per release notes of nvidia driver 457.51 (Dec 2 2020) issue was resolved. I'm installing them now, hopefully that takes care of it

I just upgraded from a 970 to an RTX 3070 XC3 Ultra.  I never had any problems with the 970.  I have no problems playing games on the new card, but I get a BSOD every time I resume from sleep.  I haven't touched the fan curves, I'm not running X1, Afterburner, or anything.  It's just the way it came straight out of the box.  I'm running nvidia driver 461.09, and my MB's BIOS and all other drivers are all up to date.

Had the same problem when upgraded a 1660 to a 2060 Super without reinstalling the drivers. Fixed it by removing and reinstalling v461.09.

I was running 460.79 when I switched out cards.  I upgraded to 461.09 after the first BSOD and it didn't fix.  When I install new nvidia drivers I always select the advanced option, select drivers only (without GFE), and check the box to perform a clean install.

I always wondered how well the "clean install" option worked in the driver install package. They recommend using DDU to remove old drivers in the sticky section. Maybe the "clean install" is not quite clean enough?  DDU might be worth a try.
