Hey guys, looking for suggestions on a new keyboard, my current keyboard I broke a leg on it and taping it back on no longer works...

Current keyboard is an Alienware AW768 with Cherry MX Brown switches, looking for something with Brown switches or newer similar clicky/tactile switches that aren't too obnoxious.

Right now I'm looking at a few Corsair & SteelSeries keyboards, no real budget limit in mind as I only buy a new keyboard every 2-3 years so I don't mind spending good money on them as long as they'll last.

RGB is preferred by not necessary, mechanical switches are required, all that fancy smansy usb passthrough etc stuff I couldn't care less about, an LCD is not necessary but would be neat, and I cannot abide by a Tenkeyless keyboard.

Right now I'm looking at these models:

SteelSeries Apex 7 (MX Browns) : https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SRCWNFY/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_5?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
Corsair K100 (MX Speed Silvers) : https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08HR68MQZ/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_7?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
Corsair K95 Platinum (MX Browns) : https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B082GRKQYF/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_6?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

All I can say is I have bought several Corsair brands and have been more than happy with them.  They are all still working, I have just passed them on down the line to my sons  after i get myself a newer, fancier version..

I have also had a Logitech mechanical & a Razer mechanical.  Neither lasted as long as they should have - they each developed a broken key or two in too short a time...

Das Keyboard makes bulletproof units that function as well as anything on the planet. If you don't care about RGB this is the droid you're looking for:

    https://www.daskeyboard.com/daskeyboard-4-professional/

They also make a TKL version:

    https://www.daskeyboard.com/daskeyboard-4C-tkl/

Of course if you want the RGB they have those too:

    https://www.daskeyboard.com/p/4q-smart-rgb-mechanical-keyboard/

And finally, if you want 95% of the Das quality but with 100% more bling, this is a must have (I'm currently typing on one):

    https://en.roccat.org/Keyboards/Vulcan-Pro

...and of course they have a TKL version as well:

What do you think about Corsair K100 keyboard, Choice between Cherry MX Speed Silver or OPX switches on it.  I don't like the wheel or the memory foam wrist rest on it. $230 price tag, i think that keyboard shoud of came with iCUE NEXUS Companion Touch Screen built into it with no ugly wheel on it.

Not that Roccat one, but a similar model, is actually one I was kind of looking at already, added the DasKeyboard to the list of considerations because it looks quite good, and I do like a good ol' plain "does the job and has RGB" look of the Q4.

As a bonus you'll be able to use it as a blunt weapon if the need arises and it would likely still work without a scratch afterwards. I cant stress how solid my Das-4 Professional is.

I believe I had Blue previously, and I prefer the Brown, they're still quite good on the "force" requirement, while being less loud.  I'd have to try MX Speed or Silvers, never used them before, but I've heard good things via reviewers... but everyone has their own preference in terms of switches, some people like ones with a lot of resistance, some like no resistance, some like clicky, some like quiet, etc.

Are you very picky? Perhaps look into custom keyboards from Korea.

I just bought a Razer Huntsman mini and I’m fairly satisfied. Red silent like optical switches. Very happy with the build quality. I’m also waiting for the other Huntsman keyboard sizes to be updated to the latest Huntsman technology as the mini.

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

Topre switches are the *best* on the market. I’ve tried numerous cherry switches and manufacturers.

This is what you want (one of these):
