Same problem here with two different 3080 cards. Sleep works fine with 456.71 and reboots-on-wake with the two newer versions.

It's 100% an issue with having auto fan control disabled. Happens in PX1 and Afterburner. Has to be a driver issue. I'm running a 3090 XC3 Ultra and experience the issue every time I forget to re-enable auto fan control after playing games and let the computer go to sleep

This is an issue with precision X1, close it down and I bet you can put your computer to sleep now

Please, whoever has this issue, report it!

it's a known issue with the latest drivers, on the geforce forums:

PC may BSOD upon waking from sleep when manually adjusting fan speed [3173027]
 
I'm hoping the drivers they release for the RTX 3060 ti will include a fix for that.

New driver version 457.51 released and I just tried it with Precision X1 1.1.2, Sleep & hibernate and wake up seems no issue now with custom Fan control.
 
Maybe I have to try it more.

Yes, I verified it to be working at my end with 457.51 on both PX1 and AB - 3080 XC Ultra

Sleep is working for me again with 457.51, which is a great relief.

Hey folks, I'm on the latest nvidia drivers and still having issues with my 3080 waking from sleep. 
I'm still running X1 v1.1.0.9 - I was under the impression this was the intended version for 30x series cards. 
Should I be running latest X1 instead?

Yes, install 1.1.2 or I guess 1.1.3 just came out today, but 1.1.2 has been working fine for me since the new driver.

Old thread but another cause of the sleep issue can be windows 10 itself, update 20h2 added a lot of sleep / hibernate issues for users. My machine is a total dice roll if it’s going to use sleep mode or not so I have to set it up manually to make sure it does it
