YouTuber ‘Bang4BuckPC Gamer’ shared some new videos, showing Diablo 3, Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare running in 8K on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX3090. As a bonus, Bang4BuckPC Gamer has also shared a video showing Wolfenstein Youngblood in 8K with DLSS and Ray Tracing. Going into more details, Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls ran with more than 100fps on Max settings. Needless to say that for this Diablo game, an NVIDIA RTX3090 is overkill. Still, I’m pretty sure that some Diablo fans will be happy to run their favourite game in 8K with more than 100fps.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 ran with 45fps-60fps in 8K on Ultra settings. However, Bang4BuckPC Gamer has not used a really demanding mission. As such, the other single-player missions may not run that well on the RTX3090 in 8K/Ultra settings. For Battlefield Bad Company 2, the YouTuber used the game’s High settings. With those settings, the RTX3090 was able to run it with more than 60fps. Battlefield Bad Company 2 is a really old game and it looks dated, even in 8K.

Lastly, Wolfenstein: Youngblood ran with 60fps in 8K and on Ultra settings on the RTX3090. In order to achieve this performance, Bang4BuckPC Gamer used the Performance Mode of DLSS.
Before closing, you can find some other games running in 8K on the RTX3090 here and here.

Looks like the RTX 3090 is a true 8K gaming video card to me.

I still say it's in the early days of 8K. Yes it works for some games but really not enough to be considered true 8K gaming.

The good news is 8K monitors don't exist yet that I have seen. They top out at 6K for the Apple Display unless I missed something. Even a 8K TV is still not something people are really affording for home use yet. So by the time we see 8K monitors we might be two or three generations away. Imagine what it will be like in 2026 when 8K monitors become a thing and we have like a 6090 and get 100-144FPS in games at 8K.

I honestly think 8K for the TV will become the generation for movies in which refresh starts to become the new thing also. They can increase to 16K but the average person will stop seeing an increase in quality but at 8K increasing from 60FPS in a movie to 120FPS is going to be something that will be instantly noticeable. If televisions make that jump gamers will also benefit from it as well.

I don’t think I would want 8K at 60Hz, but at 120Hz it could really start to get interesting.

Man, I remember when I was working with 8k cameras over 5 years ago...  The encoders on those things would heat up a room...  Still not going to be mainstream for a long time though.  We only worked with them as I designed production/contribution/distribution encoders and decoders at the time and needed to see what was up.

120Hz or nothing. I can stick with lower res for a long time as that is what it seems we will be stuck with for awhile. I would rather want frames for FPS.

Can you even appreciate the difference between 4K and 8K when you are intensely playing the game rather than sitting back all relaxed like with a movie?

I hope that I can save more to get 8k, and it is very convenient for me, :)

I agree with that.  I had to get a higher refresh after the screen tears started driving me crazy.

    Ready for some pwnage😼

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

Is gaming on 4k+ worth it? I never really looked into it because when I built my PC last nothing but an extreme setup could run 4k past 30 frames
