I guess all those who rushed to buy a 3080 for Cyberpunk (especially if it was from a scalper) won't be happy. I personally I'm glad that a company is pushing back their release instead of the too often " seen pushed forward released not fixed all buggy games " we can see and requires weeks of waiting for good fixes (and in some cases months).

Especially since I don't have my 3080 anyway (living in the EU and all that).

    This blows !!!
    Delayed again....

The only good thing about this is it gives me the ability to not have to choose between playing Ass Creed Valhalla and Cyberpunk 2077 for a bit longer ...

    Yeah...this smells a bit.

I highly doubt that ALL 9 versions (in their words) need polishing...Why not release on the platforms it's ready for?

Because as someone on the PCGamer thread said...'the game isn't fun'. 21 days isn't going to fix that. :D

Most games this year have had 1 or 2 delays so this doesn't come as any surprise.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

for me its the other way around, cyberpunk is as far as i know nvidia optimized partnership game, and with the low accessability of 30xx cards, i cant stop thinking of this is a tactical delay powered by nvidia because of the fear of loosing many customers to amd cards. but who knows

for many ppl this game was and is the main reason to upgrade.

My bet is that they just want the game in a more polished state. Although I agree that some of it could be Nvidia/AMD drivers. I would rather it was delayed and given more time to mature. I probably won't play it for another several months anyway, since I like to wait until all the bugs are ironed out (let's be honest, we all have a large backlog of games).

Their reasoning sounds a bit flawed to me. I think they're making up excuses for something at this point. My guess is it has to do with new hardware and working out bugs with both new AMD and Nvidia GPUs where it's stable and efficient with them. Frankly, a few week pushback doesn't make sense to me though. Not a lot can be fixed in a few weeks.

I wonder how buggy the game will be on release, one of the devs who worked on it came out and said game needs a few more months of bug fixes

It's shocking that some people have started resorting to death threats. That is really disgusting behavior. I was upset because I've had to readjust my vacation days twice now, but this is insane.

At this point they should just pull the release date and wait till they know 100% it's ready then announce the release date. I didn't think I would ever have doubts about a CD Projekt Red game being well polished on release but kind of on the fence now and may just wait for some reviews since I have not preordered yet.

I'm sure it's just the big console tech companies paying them to delay & optimize for the the PS5 & Xbox... has nothing to do with the quality level we can expect on release.

    ROFLMAO... no worries!
With the 3080/90/70 series being such a hot mess launch all the way around, this is probably good news for both the game and RTX. If/When you release a highly anticipated title like this, you have one shot at making a good first impression (regardless of who's fault it is... *ahem* NVIDIA). If you don't make a good first impression, you lose significant traction and sales after the fact.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the game is actually ready, but they're waiting to see if Nvidia can get its shizznit together; game devs took it in the shorts as much as us end users/consumers. I've always been an Nvidia fan boy, but this entire mess is nonsensical and inspired me to wait.

Good on the Dev team for Cyberpunk for holding off, it's gotta suck for them to do so, knowing full well that it's not their fault!
