Hey Guys planning to upgrade pc with rtx 3070 or 3080 and looking for a new psu. Is the P2 still a viable option for its price(looking for the 750w one)? or are there competitors with wich outplay it by new features and performance? ( Not looking for mentioning competitor products,just a theoretical question)

    If you go with the 3080, you are going to want the 850w or 1000w especially if you are going to overclock... The boost on those cards use more power than any previous generation.

    750W might be ok with the 3070  , but you're at the edge for running a 3080 .
     
    many threads, just on here, about PSU's being eaten for lunch by the 3080 .  the manuf says a 750W is needed , so the user should always go with more than that .

    P2 and T2 the best series of psu's EVGA has.

    The 750w P2 is a good power supply, but not for you.  You should have bought a top performing 1000w Gold unit.

    Personally I would always give yourself a good power cushion.
