Re: BIOS Updates for Z390 Dark (1.07) / Z390 FTW (1.08) 2020/05/30 16:16:32 (permalink)
UPDATE: I decided to go ahead and flash the XOC bios for the extra settings and the extra boot settings re-appeared and the Boot Logo is now gone.  I may leave it on XOC unless someone replies with a fix for the 1.07 issues.

Finally got around to installing my Z390 EVGA Dark ( last Xmas buy) and flashed bios to 1.07.

These issues did not appear when initially booting into 1.06 from very first install boot.

Everything is running okay, but after installing Win10 clean from ISO I cannot disable the EVGA DARK boot logo.

I cannot see Post screen at all and just see a Windows waiting circle animation that pops out to a forefront box through the full screen EVGA Dark logo screen.

No matter what I set, Fast Boot OFF etc, the system boots with the EVGA Dark Logo all the way through to Win10 login screen (password).

Boot on NVME SSD is set to  to UEFI, “Hard Disk:Windows Boot Manager”.  I had found a few threads about Fast Boot using the EVGA boot logo but I have that off.  Also mention of turning the logo off under Boot settings but there is no item for that in 1.07 that I can find.

Q. Did 1.07 remove Logo options?

Q. Is there something that could have become corrupted with 1.07 Bios update even though no errors and system is fine otherwise?

I have the Z390 Dark V1 - Bios 1.07 supporting a i7 9700K 3.6 Ghz CPU.

I have an issue with my new 4400 memory modules 2 x 8Gb  GSkill F4-4400C19-8GTZKK. (19-19-19-39) These contain Samsung B die modules and GSkill state that XMP II is supported. The motherboard however reports that XMP II is not supported and the fastest I can get is 4267 - Anything higher than that and the system freezes. I am a novice at overclocking but i was (naively) expecting to be able to select XMP II in the bios and have the modules run at 4400. Have I missed something obvious - grateful for some advice.

Finally is BIOS 1.08 FTW compatible with the Dark and if so where can I find the changelog comparing 1.07 and 1.08

Many thanks.

For the modules to run at 4400 the system clock would be affected which affects the CPU clock so your system would be unstable if that CPU cannot clock till that speed on stock voltages. Just my 2 cents
