Unfortunately he appears to be a total legend for US consumers but either has limited information about EU or is just stalling and hoping things start moving on their own.

coffeephile So is StepUp working in EU or not?
It's working the fact that we have successfully registered our cards with the EU Step-Up program. It's just not seeing any movement from Step 1 because of supply issues/priorities since launch date.

This exactly. Under EU law they cannot advertise the process without being able to fully follow the procedure on their end. Of course the likes of Scan and Pccomponents will get cards before us, as the likes of EVGA would make more money through retail bulk than through direct purchases.

Please can someone at EVGA at least give us an idea as to when there will be any movement on the EU step ups now. At least tell us what we are waiting for/what the delay is. Are we waiting for the US customers to go through their allocation first? Are EU and US step ups being run via the same team? Are US and EU customers using the same stock allocation? It all seems very unfair at the moment that not one (as far as I am aware) EU customer has had any movement on their step up yet. I understand there are stock shortages etc, which is why a bit of communication and clarity is all that's asked for. It's not a lot to ask and it goes a long way in keeping your customers happy. Cheers.

They just randomly went up yesterday, keep a close eye on Nvidia's site as if they get more stock, it'll redirect you to Scan!

That price includes all taxes - amazon calculate that in advance and hold it as deposit. The price before taxes was £634.

I’m pretty sure you can still get taxed by customs separate to what amazon charges.

You can’t. There is no customs to pay to anyone because Amazon pays the customs charges. You pay amazon the amount of the customs charges in advance and if it’s more they don’t bill you, If it’s less you gets refunded. You don’t pay customs twice, that would be double tax and very strange.

About Import Fees Deposit
Amazon Global and Amazon Global Store offer customers customs duties, taxes and fees ("Import Fees") estimation during checkout and customs clearance on your behalf for certain eligible countries.
When you buy products sold and shipped from outside your country, you or the recipient are responsible for paying import taxes and duties based on the laws of the country into which the products are being delivered. Where Amazon offers this service, with your authorisation, Amazon will estimate the Import Fees Deposit from you. The carrier or another agent will then use this to pay the Import Fees on your behalf (or the recipient's behalf) to the appropriate customs and tax authorities of the destination country.
The Import Fees Deposit is an estimation of the taxes and duties that may apply and isn't an actual calculation of the taxes and duties. Customs regulations and tax rates applicable to certain goods may change between the order date and the date of entry. In addition, classification of goods in various countries and regions may be different.
If the actual Import Fees are less than the deposit amount collected by Amazon on your behalf, you'll automatically be refunded the difference to the payment method you used for the order. You'll receive a notification e-mail to confirm the amount of the refund. The refund process takes up to 180 days from the dispatch date.
For items sold by Amazon EU Sarl or Amazon Export Sales, LLC (Amazon US), you won't be charged any additional fees if the actual Import Fees exceed the Import Fees Deposit amount we estimated. For items sold by other Marketplace Sellers, please check the applicable Seller's policies.

One of the biggest E-Tailers in Austria today sent out mails stating they are unable to get any information on delivery dates for all their open orders and they have never seen anything like this. This adds up with what proshop is letting us know about their situation. This is more an US/EU issue. The US makes a lot of noise, their reviewers get cards first, their shops get them first and also Nvidia's own shop seems to not work in more than a hand full of countries outside the US. EU just is not as important sadly. And yes, EVGA seems to use DE/NL warehouses for their EU stock.

I would guess with the current situation it will take 5-6 months for the first couple of people to start receiving their step up cards here in Europe. I remember it was a couple of weeks to a couple of months aswell during Turing launch.
