So if I wanted to capture my pc I would have to have a 2nd pc or how does this work? Also does it work perfectly to capture switch, ps4pro and Xbox?

You would probably need a second PC since otherwise you would just use screen recording software like OBS Studio. I think the goal is to record on a second computer so that the recording does not bog down gaming performance.

It’s also about the quality of the setup you want to stream with. Going with a capture device you gain the ability to use the hardware that you want to really make it look more professional which is important if you want fallowed online. Also by not only having just gameplay with audio to be able to show yourself helps get you recognized.

Of course you are also right about possibly slowdowns while capturing and playing at the same time. Nobody wants to have a stream make them look like they are bad because of gaming lag.

For good capture performance you want machine to play on and one to capture on.

I keep seeing two machines.  However if you have enough RAM and cores on the processor, couldn't you just allocate certain cores to the gaming application and the others to the capture application?  This way they wouldn't be sharing system resources.  Obviously you'd need a high core CPU, but I'd imagine a 12 core or better CPU would allow for this to work without much issue?

Probably better to have a high spec PC do everything.

hmm, I thought just having the capture device enables you to better use the performance of your one PC to to both gaming and the 'streaming' because the recording part is already done by the XR1... maybe I'm wrong.

If youre gaming on your pc The xr1 will allow you to hook up a high quality camera to capture your face or hands. It also allows you to capture a console to stream. If you want to have console and hand/face cam you'd need multiple capture cards.
