Primarily from the point of view of simply gaming.   I have never seen one in action and am wondering why they are becoming so popular.   I don't care about the technical specs, but simply the experience.    Is it more immersive?  Does it somehow look more "real" than a flat screen?    Does the curvature warp and distort visuals and texts in any way?  Thanks.

    More immersive is the reason.

It does seem like something you have to see for yourself then.   They had two in best buy when I was shopping for my 1440p monitor and I asked if they had any games they could show me and of course they didn't

Having everything on one screen is awesome.

I've been using the Samsung g9 for about a week and I love it.

I can remote into work with my machines bot on the monitor with a browser window open. Productivity wise it is fantastic

Text will remain clear and it's more natural to have the monitor around you more then just flat in front of you. In fact it's probably easier to read then having two monitors next to each other as I find myself adjusting my body to look straight at the second screen instead of just turning my head like an ultrawide curved allows.

Sweet.  Assuming because of the curve of our eye?

Immersion is definitely improved in games that properly support it. I found it distracting at first for office work, but eventually you get used to it.

This is probably unhelpful but having used a 34" 21:9 monitor for the past 5 years for gaming and work, 16:9 is dead to me.

No I kind of get it.   After using 60hz monitors for 15 years and then switching to a 144hz monitor,  60hz is now dead to me.   I don't care if the 3090 can do 8k,   if it can't do 140fps I'll use a lower rez

Funny you mention that. Even with my old 2080FE I struggled to get a solid 60FPS in a lot of games with max settings at 3440x1440 so I never felt the need to upgrade from my 60hz monitor. Now that I have a 3090 Im suddenly shopping for monitors with 120+hz refresh rates.

    Grats on getting card

I definitely could live with 120 as the max with 4k, as  I'm pretty okay with the 100fps cap I currently have on my system.

My coworker has a pair of curved monitors. He uses them for CAD work. I can definitely see the appeal with them side by side. It kind of surrounds you.

Now I'm imagining them being plane windows for Flight Simulator 2020

I like the idea of three of them, that way there's no seam in the center of your view.

I wondered that originally as well. Then you would if you drive a vehicle as well. Nearly every windshield now a days is curved...

But they are curved vertically and not much laterally. Also just because the glass is curved doesn't mean that your viewing seems curved. I'm not sure why a curved monitor would cause headaches, but imagine it would take some time to get used to it. The people in my office that have it say it isn't any better for work than two monitors. For gaming I thought I think it would be fun for certain games, but would want another monitor for other games until I find that I like it better for everything. Also hard to justify over 1k for something that I'm not sure I would like better when I know that I like what I have. It's like getting a brand new car when everything on my cars work fine... Hard for me, but easier for others.

What if we put about 12 multi curved monitors around us and formed a complete circle and then set the game FOV to 360.   Okay that's probably going into the realm of the absurd lol
