Looks like they agree it's a bad card.  Just got RMA authorization so it will be getting swapped out.  Good thing I bought the EAR to allow cross-shipping.

Any idea how long I have once the RMA is approved to be started to actually get it set up?  I figured since I had to rip the card out it was the perfect time to add in the extra rad and some temp sensors that I've been meaning to do for like 6 months now.  Problem is I'm also doing the Ryzen 3000 bracket for my CPU block and that's gonna take 1-2 weeks before ModMyMods gets it from their supplier to finish my order.  Not sure if I should just start the RMA, get the card and swap them out, then go back in there and finish the loop upgrade once I get the parts, or if I can get away with holding off for a week or so first.  Just trying to avoid double work.

After it’s approved you just need to send it in. I believe you should receive an e-mail stating how long you have to send it in.

Yeah the ticket doesn't say.  The original response was this..........

Based on your testing, it sounds like the card is failing and would need to be replaced.  I've set up a ticket for you to start your RMA with. This is only an authorization to send your product in; if there is any undisclosed damage to the EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER FTW3 HYDRO COPPER , it may still be rejected if it’s outside our warranty terms. You can set up your RMA by logging in to your account and going to http://www.evga.com/support/rma.asp. Your ticket number will be automatically filled in the proper field. If you need any further assistance, let us know and we'll be happy to help.
The reply to my follow-up just mentioned the 14 days once the RMA is shipped which I already knew.

Well, RMA is in, hoping to have the new card by Monday when my new rad and stuff shows up so I just tear into things once.  Though I'm going to plumb the new card into the current setup first just to verify it works quick and dirty before swapping things around.  It'll cost me some extra fluid, but I have a whole bottle of the old stuff still and I'm swapping coolants with the loop expansion so no issues with that.

I had to call and get the RMA fixed after putting it in.  I clicked on "activate EAR" and it put it in as a standard RMA even though I had paid for the EAR with potential Saturday delivery capability.

😎

Took about an hour tonight to drain my loop. Swap the card. Refill and bleed the loop. So far passed 30 minutes of the OCCT GPU test and currently 25 into the VRAM test with no issues. So seems it was a bad card for sure. Now debating to resume folding or not. For all I know the card had the issue all along since I had random reboots even in April right after starting it in March . Also had them in November and December last year while idle overnight and wrote it off as buggy windows updates (which it may have been).

Guess I'm just paranoid that Folding killed the card and don't want a repeat.  Any thoughts on that?  Or is it more likely that it was a flaky VRAM module from the start and I didn't find it until I started Folding a few months ago?

Hmm good to know.  I probably will start back up, but probably next weekend.  The parts I ordered to expand my cooling loop with a second rad are showing up Tuesday and I won't get them in until the weekend.  I'd like to wait till that's done before firing it back up.  I was also extremely lazy tonight and re-used my year old Aquacomputer DP Ultra Protect coolant since I knew I was going to be totally rebuilding everything in a week including flushing everything with a Mayhem's Blitz kit.  Going to be trying out the ModMyMods coolant in the new config.

Starting to think the original card had a messed up VRM section (or whatever it is that GPU's use).  The old card the lighting on the hydrocopper block would flicker under heavy loads like folding.  I started Folding again finally a couple nights ago and noticed the new card is not doing that.  I always assumed it was just something with high loads and the card prioritized actual card functions over something like lighting.  It had done it since the beginning when I started Folding in March.
