I will never buy an AMD card. That being said I just purchased a card off of Newegg and am now currently in the step up process. I can wait without having to worry if I'll ever get one. I know I will, its just when.

I wonder, when EVGA gets more stock, do they give priority to filling step-up orders, or half the new stock goes to step-up orders and half to public sale, or step-up orders are lowest priority or what? It may be worth buying a card and not opening it just to get access to a 3080, since the likelihood of getting one otherwise seems remote at best (plus you get the full purchase value back anyway)...

I'm not even sure about that but I do know they hold back stock exclusively for Step-ups

Well, then send elite members an email allowing them to purchase from the next batch before they are live on the general site or something.  One card per.
 
It's been ridiculous trying to get a card, and many of us already sold our old cards to have the money to buy the new one.

So EVGA got NVIDA and other card manufacturers to not do pre-orders? I understand the anger but it’s pretty clear not NVIDIA or any board partner did pre-orders.

Honestly EVGA is managing this better than most. Getting a few minutes heads-up before a drop helps shift the tide more towards humans instead of bots. But I'd still rather see something else like reserving some portion of the drop to Elite members like they did for the 3090.

Don't buy AMD video cards unless you like having dodgy drivers updated twice a year.
Stuff is cheap for a reason.
I cant work out why the sellers don't want to stop the bots, except its more work for the same amount of sales...

I agree, EVGA’s communications during this launch has been far better than Nvidia and the other AIBs. I don’t understand how Nvidia dumping small numbers of FE cards without pre warning helps any customers not using bots constantly pinging the site.
