How does it differ from the Z490 Dark? They look identical.

I would have gotten this if it was released with Comet Lake. I still hope to see a performance comparison with other boards.

The K|ngp|n edition is signed by Vince. The non kingpin edition is not. The boards looks to be identical.

And the first batch is already long sold out. The boards look identical because except for the image of the signed box, the two pages share the same images. So maybe he only signed the box. Still, no doubt the special version grants some superpowers in myriad forums. ;)

This is getting ridiculous getting an EVGA Z490 dark board. I used to check every day to see when they come in stock. Got a few busy days behind my back and now they are not available anymore. I even had auto notify on, suddenly a new edition of the dark gets released.

EVGA Z490 DARK K|NGP|N Edition, 131-CL-E499-KP
It seems that before it went on sale, Dark became morally outdated, since the support DDR4 4800 is lower than the competitors offered, and therefore the appearance of another motherboards was justified, but it also no longer meets modern challenges, since Crucial 5100С19 1.5V has been on sale few weeks, and the K|NGP|N Edition officially works with ONLY 5000.
I was subscribed to Dark, but it never went on sale, I signed up for the kingpin, but I feel that there will be a fiasco here too, I sincerely hope that Evga is doing well, and gone away of Ilya Tsimenko does not mean the beginning of the end, I will still wait the exit of the product I need.
I remain an admirer of Evga despite all the challenges, and will wait as long as necessary.

Clearly (IMO) video card and power supply sales pay the bills at EVGA. random_matt

I promise you they will tell you to send it back, they cannot RMA something they don't have. I've been there and was fortunate for Amazon (US) to cancel a order in time. Newegg do not offer warranty for UK customers, personally you should contact EVGA about this, you may of made a bad decision.

My last EVGA Z390 Dark was from NewEgg and that's been fine, i'm not too fussed as its a benching board. I've also had a X299 Dark from Amazon US which I had not issues with dealing with EVGA warranties. I will message them to confirm it, as you have mentioned it.

I thought the dark was overkill and not worth the extra 100 but it run 4800 up to the 5100 at full speed unlike the dark now the part left is ultra gamer card which is what still on the list for but at this price pay for the 10 year warranty.
