So I have had EVGA Z170 Classified (4-Way) [ 151-SS-E179-KR ] since Day 1 and still running fine. Have it paired with a 6700K - also a day 1 purchase.
I was contemplating updating my PC recently and decided to try and hold off till next year to see what Intel Gen 11 looks like and thus decided to try and Overclock.

Following Jacobs EVGA Z170 Overclocking video - I first increased it to 4400 with no offset. Worked fine - Intel XTU and IBT tested.
Then increased to 4600 with no offset - all worked fine.
Then increased to 4800 with +25 offset - Windows didn't boot and got an error screen. Decided to go back into BIOS and go back to 4600 - but it will let me into the BIOS but as soon as I am in - it freezes - mouse pointer stops working - screen static. (A6 on LED).

To resolve, I went into BIOS 2 (using on mobo switch) and booted up - worked fine. Was back at BIOS V1.05. I flashed to latest BIOS v2.06 and then put in my changes (XMP, Fans down to 70%, M2 slot enabled).
Restarted and all back to normal at stock.

My questions are -
1. How do I clear / reset BIOS position 1 so it can be used again ?
2. Why does it freeze in the BIOS on 4800MHz with offset at +25 ?

Hi, Thanks for that ... so using the clear Cmos button only resets the BIOS selected of the 3 switches as opposed to all.
I think Jacob was OCing on the EVGA Z170 Stinger board with a 6700K.
I have the EVGA Z170 Classified with the same CPU - has the same BIOS and menu setup.
It may be down to the new RAM I put in so have removed it and gone back to the 16GB 3200 Corsair Vengenace.
Will clear CMOS tomorrow and mess around with settings when finished work.
