Well I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a 2070 super from a 1070 in hopes of getting an upgrade to the new 30 series.  Was on the list for a pre-order of a 3080 and 3090 but figured this might be the better way to do it cost wise...  ie have cake and eat it to.

I'm in Canada and purchased the 2070 from Canada Computers and the model number on their website ends with -KR.  Figure even if I have to wait for a 3080 or 3090 I will be somewhat ahead of the game.  Also like that I get the option of adding 2 or 7 years to the warranty.  I currently run an Asus 1070 running a 3440x1440 34" monitor and that has been running fairly well, haven't had any issues with it. Was forced into upgrading my rig just before Covid happened as my mobo died, had a i7 2600k in it.

I'll be doing the same next week if I can't snag a card.

How do you know what cards you can buy or where for the step up program? Would this from Walmart work?
