Realistically it seems like getting the FTW vs FTW Ultra makes the most sense, but want to wait for the reviews to be sure they perform the same.

I expected we would have some good reviews out by now.

I am so far disappointed in what I've seen People talking about these things hitting 80c. Meanwhile the ASUS TUF, a card 100$ less, is alike 62c under load and silent. XC3 alone should be an amazing card, but the results so far...yikes.

Then the FTW3 seems to just heat up like crazy. Like it runs hotter than the FE in the very limited samples we've seen. We need MORE reviews.

I’ve seen XC3s getting hot but everything I saw about FTWs has them running cool except in rare cases.

From the PCWorld review:
It’s worth noting that the FTW3 Ultra’s secondary BIOS increases fan speeds, either to lower temperatures or to give the GPU more thermal headroom for boost clocks, but we didn’t benchmark that configuration. We test graphics cards at stock settings.
Doesn't this mean he was testing it with the factory overclock disabled? Lol.

No, it's factory oc'ed regardless. The bios switch is responsible for a more aggressive fan curve. I switched to the OC mode bios and now the fans will stay at 30% in desktop usage and only increase from there when the card is under load. Not sure if this is better though for longevity?
