Ordered a 1000w G5 last week at a pretty good price, but after reading the Tom's review I've already sent it back (sorry MSim, who advised me to read the reviews first, duh).   Have a 650w G1+ with a 2080 Ti and 9900k.  Would like to upgrade to a higher performance PSU, with an eye towards higher power GPU and CPU overclocking.  Prefer around 170mm to fit in current case well.  Have a FTW3 3080 on order (420w now, maybe higher later) and would like to get a bigger case with big AIO eventually (or maybe custom loop) so I can OC my 9900K effectively, though am also considering a FTW X299 with ????X.  Multiple drives, fans and peripherals.  Also currently get WHEA BSOD errors when running specifically normal Timespy (in the first few seconds, about 50% of the time), which seems to be tied to system memory which is otherwise stable, so I'd like to eliminate the PSU as a problem, or at least have the best performance reasonably possible for around $200.  Top picks so far with price plus shipping.

EVGA G3 1000w - $220
EVGA G2 1300w - $266  (would be very hard to fit in my case but is a beast)
EVGA P2 850w  - $199
SF Leadex III Gold 850w - $150 ($120 on sale)
SF Leadex Plat SE 1000w - $273 (like a P2 1000w but 20mm shorter chassis)

Any strong opinions?  Thx

    I’m running a Seasonic 1300w myself.

Very nice, which model specifically?  What do you think of the newer Seasonics vs. classic/new Leadex?

    Yes.

Thanks, just ordered, B&H just got the 1300w Prime Gold SSR-1300GD back in stock yesterday and they have knocked the price down to $245.  I was aware of them being great PSU's but couldn't find stock of the higher power units when I was looking a few days ago.  This SSR-1300GD should be perfect as it's only 170mm long.   Looks like they have 8 left in stock right now.

    Thanks again!!!

EVGA's Supernova line has been pretty good. Not that you can buy very many due to the PSU shortage right now. :P

Finally got this 1300w Seasonic Gold unit installed, huge pain because my case has no built in cable management.  But did OK.  Seems to be running real solid, maybe I'm crazy but I think I picked up about 200 to 400 points in Timespy gpu in a warm run with typical gaming settings.  Will have to do some stability testing.  Think my TS crashing issue is just Afterburner datalogging not playing nice.  Thanks again Sajin!
