https://www.overclock3d.net/news/software/horizon_zero_dawn_sold_over_716k_copies_on_pc_in_its_first_month/1

The latest report from SUPERDATA has been released, confirming that Horizon Zero Dawn has sold over 716K copies on the PC platform since it released on PC last month.  For context, this PC launch is as large as The Witcher III: The Wild Hunt, and much larger than that of Assassin's Creed: Odyssey and the Death Stranding's PC version. On PC, Death Stranding sold 477K copies at launch.

These high sales numbers come despite the early issues which came with Horizon: Zero Dawn's PC version, highlighting the strength of Horizon's gameplay and the popularity of the series. Recent patches have addressed most of these early PC issues, making the game a lot more playable across PC gaming's almost endless variety of hardware configurations. Given these sales numbers, it makes sense that Horizon: Zero Dawn has made Sony more interested in bringing some of its other PlayStation exclusives to PC.

The sales numbers certainly aren't bad

I'll get it eventually.  I just have had so much to play, there is no rush.
Plus it debuted a little high in price  and all the bugs reviewers were complaining about , I can wait .

I never got around to playing H:ZD. It looks gorgeous for sure, think it's worth holding out til a Steam Sale puts it a bit cheaper?

I'm holding off on getting it until I have my 3080. Hopefully by then all the bugs will be ironed out, if they aren't already, or I'll just have the horsepower to brute force through them :P

I bought it, and i was never even THAT excited about HZD. Now, bring God of War or Bloodborne over and Sony will see some SALES!

Good for Sony, that wil probably help them cover the loss at which PS5 will be selling. Maybe some more games coming to PC will help too.

I still haven't played this game. I've got too many in the back log, but my friend played it and loved it.

I'll be looking at that once I get a 3080 to drive my new CX55" OLED "monitor".  4K, 120Hz, Gsync compatible.

I bought it just to support future PS4 exclusives on PC. I didn't even like the game that much on console.

Can't wait to try this when I get a 3090, heard lots of good things about it. Glad to see it selling well on PC, hopefully Sony will release more first party titles on PC.

Anyone think it'll get more optimization, or is that just wishful thinking? It doesn't run so great on my 980. Hopefully that'll be remedied whenever I can get a 3080.

When I got to the end and finally uncovered all the sci-fi story behind it, I was thrilled.  The same feeling I had when I watched the original Matrix movie.

    Stunningly gorgeous visuals

As for the gameplay? Meh.  Another typical open world game with massive amounts of repetitive things to do.   The equipment upgrades were so minimal and ineffective it almost felt like the RPG elements were thrown in as an afterthought.

Also hits you over the head at every opportunity that men are greedy, selfish and idiots, while women are perfect, self sacrificing and far more intelligent than men.

Especially when you toss-port it with no consideration for adapting the code to PC HW architecture, to say nothing of optimization. Or debugging. Or indeed any of the other alterations necessary to accommodate PC input and viewing standards and the gameplay sensibilities/preferences of the PC market.

Ouch....Thank you for telling us about that. I love how almost everyone is actually afraid to talk about the obvious propaganda that has infested video games in the post-Sarkeesian era.

Have bought this game for ps4 but didn't have a chance to play it yet. Third person controller dynamic just kicks my rear. I've heard that you either love it or hate it. But the visuals and story seams to be interesting. So probably will grab it when its on sale. I'm glad that Sony is making that move. As I will definitely will enjoy it more with mouse and keyboard. Hopefully it will be the beginning of the trand.

Can you explain what this means? I'm not sure what it refers to.

I'am sorry, What I meant is I'am ok with FPS using controller but suck when it comes to a 3rd person view. I dont use PS too much. Only when I play with my son. So naturally I suck at it. Im better with KB and mouse.

Oh, I understand. Some people have a misunderstanding that an analog stick is better (or less unacceptable?) for third-person games. I always use KB & mouse for any camera-based 3D game. In third-person, a mouse not only provides superior precision, but allows one to Whip! - Whip! - Whip! the camera around to target enemies or change positioning. This is really advantageous in games like Arkham City where enemies can entirely surround you.

I only use an analog stick for for racing, since I don't have a wheel, or sometimes for flying in ports that have poor PC controls.
