Hi everyone. New user here hoping to get a solid answer for this, maybe even get lucky and have an employee respond. Although it seems to be pretty easy to step up I noticed on the support page that it says "You can unlock the Step-Up option for most  products as long as it meets the conditions listed below.". The word MOST is what has me confused because although it has a list of cards I can upgrade to there is no list of EVGA cards I can upgrade from. If I have a 2060 or a 1660 can I still upgrade to a 3080? Or do I need to have a 2080 since that is the previous generation same "tier" card? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums. It is referring to going from most products to one on the list. Most products will qualify for the Step-Up as they will have a -KR part number suffix so if it is purchased from an authorized reseller, registered in the first 14 days of purhcase or an Extended Warranty is purchased for it you can start it in the first 90 days of purhcase. If it has a part number suffix such as -RX it would not qualify which is sold in much less volume than products with a -KR suffix as they are re-certified products.

So if your RTX 2060 or GTX 1660 has a part number ending in -KR and meets the other qualification then you would be able to enter the Step-Up program to the RTX 3080 on the Step-Up list. It does not have to be the same tier card and you could Step-Up a GT 1030 with a part number ending in -KR to a RTX 3080 if you wanted if it qualified with the registration/Extended Warranty and it was within the first 90 days of purhcase.

Mine ends with KB so does that mean I don't qualify?

Does the card itself have KB on it? I didn't know there was a KB SKU.  I looked on Best Buy's site and it does say KB but I just have to wonder if it's not a typo and it's KR.

-KB is usually a Best Buy-specific part number.  If you are the original purchaser, a -KB product will qualify for Step-Up.  If, for whatever reason, it says you do not qualify after registering the product and making sure that you've complied with the other requirements (e.g. uploaded invoice, registered w/in 14 days of purchase OR registered after 14 days and purchased an extended warranty), then please contact Customer Service so we can look into it.  It might just be a programming issue.

Am I still qualified if I buy off of NewEgg or Amazon? Where can I see the qualified retailers?
