Well it is officially time to upgrade. My system cannot run Crysis remastered! 4770k and a 1080ti is just not enough! Anyone else get Crysis remastered who still has a 1080ti? If so how does it run? I haven't tested an average framerate yet but on High settings I was getting a lot of low frames

I have a 1080 Ti paired with a Ryzen 3600x.

High Settings
1080p, SMAAx2  90-100 FPS
1440p, SMAAx2  60-70 FPS

Can it run Crysis settings
1080p, SMAAx2 53 to 60 FPS
1440p, SMAAx2 33 to 47 FPS

Over all game play seemed smooth at all settings but there were a few spikes in frametime under Can it run Crysis settings...

I'd say a 4th gen i7 is getting a little long in the tooth but,

What are you global Nvidia driver settings? All application controlled? AA-Transparency?

I have the newest drivers but yeah It is all whatever the stock settings are in the Nvidia panel. All app controlled/auto. If you have any tips and tricks that would be awesome.

P.S. My brother just gifted me his old 9700k and I am putting together a new computer right now.

Well I put my new system together but my CPU temps are off the charts. I need to figure that out. I was wondering if there are settings in the nvidia control panel that might give me a performance boost? I see that you mentioned it earlier.

It's nothing to do with your system or card - it's because they did almost nothing to update the core game code to run on anything but 1-cpu core .

Thanks for the link and also what a letdown, I was looking forward to the flying level but it looks like it was cut. Stupid consoles, looks like they scaled it back for them.

I found my CPU problem...

Yeah, I read a review today that stated that the old 1 thread problem is still there - as a 2 thread problem.

Way to release the CONSOLE port of this game and not bother to optimize CPU usage at all. Huge ooooof. Glad they released it as epic store only - it gave me a reason to not buy it before finding out this disappointing news.

Yeah, this is why I won't be buying this game. I no longer have the patience to put up with a game that is optimized for 1 to 2 cores. We live in 2020 and most of the time a CPU bottleneck is a thing of the past. Then, Crytek shows up...

I wish I could blame it on the poorly optimized game...

So I have my new main computer setup as a 9700k at 5ghz all cores and the 1080ti. I have my computer hooked up to my older samsung 4k 55in curved TV. I don't have access to my 1440p screen right now. I forgot how nice G-Sync is now that I don't have it lol. I will get 4k numbers and 144p numbers. Maybe they might update the game to be more optimized by then.

Maybe, ha!

Apparently EVGA's 3090 FTW3 Ultra that Jacob and Peter were using for the live stream event yesterday played it at 4K Can It Run Crysis settings at around 50 FPS.

Yeah it's like it's designed to run slow even on the halo sku lmao

I wonder how it'll run on the 4090 Ti

unfortunately this remake is really poorly done, it still pegs a single core with a couple of slave cores (have screenshots from users testing this in their discord) and its based off the console port. So it goes from PC game -> Console Port -> Pc Port. It's a port of a port. It's not entirely saber interactives part, they obviously had to do it in a small budget with the console port being based on cryengine 3 and it being easier and quicker to port over vs the cryengine 2 PC game that we all loved. So, best thing to do is turn your shadows to medium and mix the settings with high and very high. Shadows on medium made the biggest difference for me on my rtx 2080. You dont /have/ to upgrade for this game, as you won't be seeing too much of an improvement as you think you would

Thanks for the info. Yeah I moved onto the Mafia Remaster... It is the era of remasters apparently. I am really impressed with the Mafia one but I have only played for about 30 min. I just can't be satisfied with Crysis Remastered at least on the 4k TV. Once I am back on my 1440p Asus monitor I will report back here

The Mafia Definitive Edition remake is gorgeous! Much better than the Mafia II Definitive Edition by light years.

Some of the reflections in puddles makes me think that it has Raytracing - it looks that damn good with everything cranked up at 4K.

Can it run mode is essentially waste as much resources as we can mode with unlimited LOD etc. which would never happen in a normal game.
