NETGEAR, Inc., the leading provider of networking products that empower your gaming experience, has announced the much anticipated availability of the new Nighthawk Pro Gaming XR1000 WiFi 6 AX5400 router. The XR1000 couples next-gen WiFi 6 hardware with advanced DumaOS 3.0, the latest innovation in managing your network settings for optimized gameplay. DumaOS 3.0 software is purpose built for gamers to enjoy superior gameplay and smoother video streaming. This state-of-the-art software combined with the most advanced networking hardware ensures stabilization of ping and reduction of lag spikes with reliable connectivity over both wired and wireless networks.

The Nighthawk Pro Gaming XR1000 is the first WiFi 6 gaming router powered by DumaOS 3.0 gaming software. With the latest WiFi 6 technology, XR1000 is designed specifically to improve performance and reduce network latency when it comes to the gaming environment but will also enhance the overall home networking experience for every connected device. To further boost the gaming experience and give gamers the best gaming connection possible, the DumaOS 3.0 software includes new top features, such as: customizable Geo-Fencing, Ping Heatmap, Application QoS with Bandwidth Allocation, Connection Benchmark, and Traffic Controller. This new Nighthawk Pro Gaming router stands alone with its advanced list of features, which provide optimized control over the network connection while gaming or streaming, ensuring that gameplay can continue uninterrupted.

The Nighthawk Pro Gaming XR1000 WiFi 6 AX5400 router is now available for $349.99 USD from NETGEAR.com and other online retailers.

Despite the specs I think 350 dollars for a router is very high.

Little pricey. Not really any difference over their existing models except WiFi 6 considering most of these "features" are baked into DumaOS. If it was WiFi 6E, I'd be more willing to pay the price. But again, not much difference when compared to the XR500 I already have.

Asus just launched their first 6E router, but that's another gamer-y based model that is likely to retail at $450-500 considering the existing model retails for $450. Hopefully we'll see more 6E devices trickle out in the future.

Wow, only four antennas.   Usually they have six or eight so they can pull off that alien spaceship/spider look.

Currently been using router / modem / cable box form cable provider, its active one from cable vision. So far its worked okay. Can't see spending the money for a router more than 200

I'm not too surprised by the price. Wifi 6 router pricing is ROUGH. Also paying for all that "Pro Gaming" jazz.

For wired ethernet? Heck no. Some may have good wifi performance, but you should find some site that tests it, others aren't any better than regular routers.

I would think it would be better to go with a mesh system for the same price. Some of the mesh systems for Wifi 6 have speeds better then what the highest end WiFi 5 gaming routers and are able to provide but are able to provide greater coverage to the home for other wireless devices. With a lot of homes having a lot of things that use Wifi it's not uncommon for things to slow down from a devices being near the end of the signal making multiple requests that don't properly transmit data requiring it to be resent several times.

If I was into gaming enough to drop $350 on a wireless solution that would still be inferior to wired, I'd find a way to run wired.

I built an entire mesh network for that amount of money. No way a single router's worth that $$
