Please see below for the latest firmware update which allows for quieter fan operation. After this update is applied to the card it does not need to be updated again even if moved to another PC:

Jacob no longer works for EVGA.  EVGA no longer makes video cards.  EVGA no longer makes almost anything.  EVGA hasn't provided any updates for anything in a long time.  I doubt EVGA will offer you anything.

You don't have to touch the firmware to prevent fans from spinning.
You can do this by editing the fan curve in either AfterBurner or PX1.

As you can see from THIS picture, the fans would stop below the broken line at the bottom, so you simply have to create a curve where the junctions are above that, you can for example put the first one to a % of fan speed you want to have at all times but to a relatively low temperature that you know the card never exceeds at idle.

In their other thread, they call software garbage which has to be running to affect the fan curve.  They want a firmware solution, not software.  They have been directed to different firmware.

Installed and verified the fix, no high-pitched tone and the fan noise is generally quieter.  This was addressed super fast and on a weekend, great job! Thanks guys.
