We've all got this image in our minds of some rando cabal of basement dwellers doing all the bot scalping, but I don't think so.
Takes serious capital and 9 to 5 job level coordination to pull this macro level scheme.
I picture less a few hundred dirtbags around the globe and 2, maybe 3 organizations with the cash and long list of built up spoof emails, shipping addresses, and bespoke programming. Basically those Indian call centers that scam old people. They have the infrastructure, people, backing and dedication, and doubtless like to keep a diverse profile of hustles. The dudes that own them are rolling in the kind of investment capital to do it.
