Got one and the card is great but it does look terrible. Anyone have any idea of how/when we could replace the lip? Is the one that comes removable?

Oh don't get me wrong, I got it because the lips weren't a deal breaker for me. I'm asking because it would make the card better, and I read about the lip replacement so I wanted to know if more details had come out. A bigger issue might be the power limit in this card, as boost clocks jump a lot, and doesn't feel like the power limit slider is actually doing anything.

No worries man, that wasn't a critic or anything. Just glad you can enjoy the card and hoping we'll all follow soon on the performance train !

Last time I saw details, Jacob talked about a solution that could involve removing the " whole " shroud (not the whole cooler, but the shroud, though you might need to take the first apart to get to the latter) to replace it. But that was just a potential solution, not a full " We will do it that way " solution. Another was to just clip something onto the lips. So pretty sure they are testing the best solution that's easy, "cheap" (I don't mean in a bad way) but pleasing to the eyes and customers.

The best best would be to follow Jacob on Twitter, since he gives information that might take time to come to official channels. Plus, even if it's just hypothesis, it's fun to see different potential solutions and problem solving of EVGA's team. 

To be honest the first place I heard about red lip replacement was on Jayztwocents channel then on GamersNexus and then only I found Jacob's twitter. Lemme tell you, I found gold. 

I was not aware these cards had lips. Dang... that's impressive if they can talk too!

Wondering if they will give a list of possible colors soon, or if it will only be black. Also curious how easy it would be to remove the red one and repaint it myself? Currently very difficult since I don't have a card haha

I can't find the tweet in question but from my memory there was indeed a whole bunch of colors (black, silver, grey (darker than silver), yellow. Might be even more, they were just mockup to see if it would please their customers (and white might also been in the twit I can't remember). If you're interested you should try to hunt Jacob's tweets to find the good ones.

Its def gonna change down the line, i dont mind too much. I just dont really understand what the factor was in choosing red tho lol
