Has anyone replaced their SC17 battery?

My SC17 battery is puffed up like an angry blowfish. I have contacted EVGA support to see if they can sell me an OEM version, but from talk here before, I know I may be out of luck. 
 
Before I just pick a random eBay seller, has anyone already done this? Can you share a reputable US source? I don't want to spend a hundred bucks on a battery for it to poop out right away. 
 
(At least the computer boots without a battery installed... not sure what will happen if try to run something demanding. Some laptops require current from the battery to supplement the power supply. I didn't think the SC17 was like that, but ...)

    Thanks for the links. Well, at least I am not alone. 
     
    I'll just have to decide if I want to buy a battery (of unknown quality!) and keep it around for a day when I might need to take the beast somewhere without AC power.
