I am building a new CPU (all new components). Here are the components -
  1. EVGA GEFORCE RTX 2070 Super GPU
  2. EVGA Supernova 1000 G3 1000 W Gold power supply
  3. ROG Crosshair VII Hero (Wifi) gaming motherboard
  4. AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
  5. Sabrent Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD
  6. Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 (2 X 16 GB | 32 GB, 3200 MHz)
  7. Phanteks Enthoo Pro Model PH-ES614P
I have connected all the components. First I connected the power supply and the motherboard. Then, I plugged in the GPU -> AMD Ryzen 7 2700 X -> DDR4s -> SSD. There are three power outputs from the power supply, one is the motherboard power supply, and two VGA power supplies (VGA 1 and VGA 2) connect to the GPU. The AMD fan is connected to the motherboard. That's all the connections.

While the Motherboard is powering up, the GPU is not powering up. Neither does it show any activation lights, nor does the HDMI throw any output when connected to a monitor. I am stuck and I am not sure what to do. I tried connecting the GPU to the different ports on the motherboard (3 of them) - but none of them gets it working. Did I miss something? Or is there something wrong with the GPU?

Do you have another PC to test the video card?

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

BIOS updated to Version 3103?..Do that first..You can do it using USB BIOS FlashBack..Rename the BIOS file to C7HWIFI.CAP or use the included BIOSRenamer utility..Then put it on a FAT32 formatted USB Flash Drive, plug it into the designated USB port on the Rear I/O..Then press/hold the Flashback button for about 3 seconds, then release..BIOS will be updated when the button stops flashing.

Looks to me like you forgot to plug in the 8 pin  CPU power connector. It is shown in the top left of your motherboard image.

Yep yep..Didn't see that..Glad I'm getting my new glasses this week

Also, reason number 97 why one must read/follow the assembly directions in the mobo manual.

Thanks, @HeavyHemi, and @Bob. I did connect the CPU input cables now. Didn't work. Attaching the updated wiring.

I'm not sure about BIOS update - I don't have a display connector in the motherboard. So I can't access it.

Yes you can..You don't need anything (CPU/RAM/Grapics) but power to the motherboard when using USB BIOS Flashback..I love it!
