Hello,

Really quick and easy question (I Hope..)

Currently specs:

i7-6700k
GTX 980ti
Asus Maximus Hero VIII
16 GB RAM

I want to upgrade to a 2080 Super and not entirely sure if my current cpu/motherboard is up to task.  From what I've seen (Motherboard user manual), my motherboard is compatible, but I guess my question is would I be able to make the most out of the upgrade or would I need to upgrade my entire rig?  Would it be more sensible to go with a lower GPU upgrade given my specs?

Best,

Thanks for the response!  1080p (which is entirely fine for me);  don't even have a 4k monitor at the moment.

You didn't list your PSU so make sure it has enough power.

Hello!  I have a 1000W PSU; sorry, totally should have listed that.  I think I'm going to go ahead and place the order!  Thanks!

Don't think you'll notice much difference running at only 1080p  using a 2080 Super ,

but yes, the boards should be compatible.
