Status: offline Ribbons : 14 Re:Get It Colder......2 2020/08/11 12:14:37 (permalink) OK, Ran a 3Dmark Fire Strike Extreme benchmark and I'll admit that while my present rig with a dated ASUS RVE X99 / i7-6950X won't win any CPU scoring contest , Comparing just the graphics scores only between 2X Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti card OC's (flashed with a 380w vbios) and the highest scores that I achieved on my previous Kingpins OC's, You can see that there is only a 1 to 3 FPS differences in the graphics scores. For my next new build, I was initially going to buy a Full Price new AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X and a new ASUS ROG Zenith II Alpha for around $2354 on Amazon, But after trying for three attempts in which they kept messing up those orders, I gave up on that plan of attack. I now have a chance to buy a used AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X and a used ASUS ROG Zenith II Alpha for about $1200 Which sounds like a good deal to me. I already have a set of Corsair 4 x 8GB DDR4 3600MHz memory and Two Sabrent 500GB NVMe 4.0 SSD drives to go along with my present 2X RTX 2080Ti's to complete the this new build. I did go ahead and buy that $1200 deal which should get me started on my journey with an AMD CPU which I have not used in any of my systems since 2006!
