I know this is a weird one.  I can't seem to figure out why I randomly get directx12 errors.  I have clean installed graphics drivers.  Everything is up to date.  It seems like if I play the game for hours, usually around turn 300-400 I have an error.  Windows is up to date (build 1909, if i remember correctly), bios is updated.  No overclocks. No thermal issues.  Is it the game?

Ryzen 3600
Asus TUF x570
Corsair 16gb ddr4 3600 mhz cl18
EVGA 2060 ko ultra
Corsair rm750x
Corsair iCue 220t airflow

Thermals are all good (cpu in the 40*s, gpu maybe in the 50*s)

I have all current game expansions.

Do the errors go away when underclocking the card to max negative clocks on the core and memory?

I haven't tried underclocking the card because the issue is so random.  The system runs flawlessly in all other games that I play.  I was curious if it was a setting, since I run the game maxed out in 1080p, or if it was just a known issue with the game.

I'll go weeks without a crash, and then in the past 24 hours I've had two crashes.  They are just soft crashes (just the game has to be force closed, the system doesn't restart, shutdown etc...)  I think I'm up to maybe 5 crashes in 3 months.

Sounds like a game issue then for sure.

Windows is up to date (build 1909, if i remember correctly)

Windows 10 version 2004 is the latest.

Use the Update Assistant, click "Update now" and then "Run" to get the latest version..The Update Assistant will also be installed on your PC after that, you can leave it or uninstall it through Programs and Features.

What's new in Windows 10 version 2004 (new DirectX 12 features, among other things, are available in this release).

You can type winver in the Windows Search Box and press Enter to see what Windows version and build you have now.

Make sure the game itself might need a scan/repair/update.
