I'm building a new computer for a family member and having some issues with the cpu cooler. The EVGA 2080TI is simply too long for this Corsair ICUE 220T case for me to put the Corsair iCUE H100i Pro XT at the front of the case and I also cannot mount it at the top due to the memory being in the way. So my question is, would it be okay if i mounted this cooler at the top BUT I don't use the second fan so the memory isn't blocked and I'm able to actually still mount the radiator with just one fan and I could maybe use the other fan for the back of the case? I am NOT overclocking anything here but I'm just concerned if this will cause problems? I have a be quiet rock pro 4 on the way to solve this issue but it might not arrive by this weekend and I MUST have this done. Could really use some advice here.. thanks fellas.

Sure, you can mount it up top use just one fan..It'll cost reduced cooling ability though, hard to say how much.

You'll normally get better Rad/CPU cooling by orienting the fan to suck cooler outside air in through the rad rather than blowing the warmer case air out through the rad.

Blowing the warmer air out of the case through the rad may decrease other component temps such as the GPU and things but increase Rad/CPU temp, like I said.

Try it both ways if you wanna..Use some program to monitor the CPU and other temps.

Thanks for the reply. So as for the case there are 3 fans in the front that pull. I could use the cpu fan to suck cooler outside air in through the rad as you said and then i could use the other fan on the back of the case to pull out the warmer air as well?

Yeah, and that should give you positive pressure in the case to help keep out dust too.

or mount the radiator up front. Solves all your problems .

Unfortunately I'm unable to do that. The GPU is too long for the case IF I mount the radiator up front with the fans. Even if I were to put the fans on the 'outside' on the 'front' of the case they fans would be rubbing against the metal and be loud and likely cause damage.

OK,... I have also seen the radiator mounted outside the back end too.

    Good luck with build though...

I think I would have gone with an H80i in the front top. I have that case, I hate how close the motherboard is to the top of the case. This was one configuration I had with that case:

    Main PC | Secondary PC
    Intel i9 10900K | Intel i7 9700K

MSI MEG Z490 ACE | Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Master
ASUS TUF RTX 3090 | NVIDIA RTX 2070 Super
    32GB G.Skill Trident Z Royal 4000MHz CL18 | 32GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB 4266MHz CL17
    SuperFlower Platinum SE 1200w | Seasonic X-1250
    Samsung EVO 970 1TB and Crucial P5 1TB | Intel 760p 1TB and Crucial MX100 512GB
    Cougar Vortex CF-V12HPB x9 | Cougar Vortex CF-V12SPB-RGB x5

+1..... also you can make a hole in your case door and mount it there as long as you leave enough slack to get the door off. You should have enough that you can unlock the door and slide it behind the back of the case if you need to work in it without hurting anything. Once your setup and stable you wont be inside it everyday, so a tighter setup like this can workout fine.
