Hi all,
 
We updated the XOC BIOS to add support for Cascade Lake CPUs.  No other changes.

    Nice! Any way to flash a Cascade-Lake-X Bios to a board that doesn't boot with it? Like some secret USB port? I guess the bios version present on the board I just got just can't boot with the newer chips.

    Open a support ticket, they send you a socketable bios chip. Then you send it back when your done. I had to for mine last January also

    As a heads-up: I tested the Bios and this XOC Bios doesn't perform well unfortunately.
     
    It seems like it uses new microcode so mitigations are active and killing performance. I think that shouldn't be the case as the goal was to remove them for best possible scores right? I noticed Luumi for example has the old UI in his XOC version for CLX, however this provided bios has the new UI, so something is messed up. 
     
    I had an LN2 session planned for today, but I had to cancel it as it doesn't make sense with this bios. Please look into it. I'd need a XOC version for CLX without mitigations. Easy to distinguish: 5G on all 18 cores should net about 5000 Score in Cinebench R15 using old microcode. With this bios it is only 4800 in R15.
     
    If I'm not mistaken we need Cascade Lake-X microcode - 29 for best performance.
