Hi gang. Its been a while. Hope all is well and healthy amidst this corona nightmare.
Having all this time off I've decided to move from my triple setup to ultrawide single screen. Figured I'd get rid of the bezels and try gsync since Nvidia decided to jailbreak its own feature and adopt adaptive sync.
So I purchased Acer ED347CKR monitor. The price was right and I figured if I like it I'd possibly get a bigger screen yet and use this one for my wife setup.
The problem is that I can't seem to get gsync to work. Things I've done:
* Installed latest monitor driver
* I'm running latest Nvidia driver.

It seems that monitor OSD doesn't have freesync on option and in Nvidia Control Panel under display category there is no Gsync option. Ive also Google around a bit. And I found that some people have gsync running on it.
What am I missing? If someone here has the monitor or has some input I would really appreciate some help.

Thank you for looking.
Ghost

PS. I'm sorry. I'm running 1080 ti gpu on evga classified x99 mobo with 5820 cpu and 24gb ram with Windows 7 64 sp1 OS.

OK , I'll do my best to explain.

Freesync will only actually work if your monitor is certified with it ( yours is ) and you have an AMD card w/ the right drivers... ( you DO NOT ! )

Now there are monitors that are ok'd by Nvidia to enable a  "freesync compatible" mode usage when running an Nvidia brand card .... but totally different from the Nvidia Gsync you mention trying.
In the case of Gsync , you need the monitor certified w/ Gsync & running only Nvidia brand cards for that to work as well .

This monitor is NOT Gsync capable - you will never see an option for that.
you may see freesync compatible mode sometime deep inside the nvidia driver control panel  ! only ! if nvidia goes thru a certification process on it & allows it.... which is just a software assistance to refresh speeds basically.

* I will say I just looked at the Nvidia control panel and say at some point I believe they changed the wording  ( removed freesync mention ) &  it only says "Gsync/ Gsync compatible"  setting together now.

It is here now -

..and you can read this on how to set it up best you can  -  https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4768/~/i-own-an-adaptive-sync-monitor-that-is-not-on-your-g-sync-compatible-list.-can

Thank you Steve.
My apologies it must be my wording.
I will look into it some more. I was just confused by some of the thread info on Reddit.

Freesync sucks if it falls below a particular threshold I have noticed, judder appears for me once it goes below half of 165.

Thank you for the input. The max refresh rate of this monitor is 100hz. Im was hoping to get smooth 75hz with gsync perhaps. It is an improvement over my previous 5760x1080 60hz setup i think. I shall see. In Assassins Creed Origins I get strong 60s in the open areas but dips down in 40-50 in busy towns. I do have most of the setting cranked up to ultra and high.

Should be fine, that gap isn't that much. G-sync is better I believe, probably why it costs more.
