So I think one of the mosfets on my gtx 1070 sc burned out.

Was slapping some mobs in PoE when PC shutdown.
Room started stinking like the chemicals they use in bathhouses.
Was afraid my ancient PSU blew up, it didn't.
Took PC apart and found that the smell was coming from the GPU. And I remembered that the mosfets on my GPU sucked.
Never applied the thermal pads that I ordered because I'm lazy. Did I just screwed myself out of a graphics card by not applying them?

The extra thermal pads don't affect the warranty status. They were optional. If it is still within the warranty period, get it replaced under warranty. If it is beyond the warranty period, send it to the e-waste recycling bin.

Not under warranty, guess my only option is to buy a new GPU then. :(

I suggest that the RTX 2080 Black Edition like I got is a step up and more for 4K gaming
