I had to remove the VRM fans to fit the Noctua NH-L12S.
As you can see the air cooler fits after removing the fans and the Noctua air cooler fan is blowing air over the VRM.
Should change the air cooler for one that doesn't clash with the VRM fans or is it ok.

Why would you use this cooler on an X299? This cooler is meant for a small form factor case, and this is not a small form factor motherboard. You should get a much more suited cooler.

I will replace it with, Noctua NH-D15S this should work better and allow us to install the VRM fans.
    Thanks for your reply.

Just verify the height will fit in your case, and you should get great performance :-)

Thanks, Yes I checked it 165mm high it will fit.
I bought the smaller one without considering the VRM fan, my bad.

the Noctua air cooler fan is blowing air over the VRM.

No, it isn't, but it would be if you flipped the fan over so that it blows instead of sucks.

If you look closely, you'll see arrows on the fan frame showing the airflow and fan rotation directions.

"Low-profile mode: Run with the NF-A12x15 fan installed underneath the fin stack, the NH-L12S stands only 70mm tall. The fan can be installed blowing upwards or blowing downwards in order to match the airflow direction inside the case."

"High-clearance mode: Run with the NF-A12x15 fan installed on top, the NH-L12S provides extended clearance underneath the fin stack. This way, it is fully compatible with chipset coolers and RAM modules with heatspreaders of up to 45mm in height."

Lol, I couldn’t get the pictures to load while traveling, and didn’t realize the fan was underneath.

That would definitely alleviate clearance issues.

I like these small fans from EVGA X299 Dark VRM.
I hope EVGA will prepare something special as well for DDR5.
Good motherboard as X299 Dark, Intel processors with innovations and good improvement in performance per core and I could stay with Intel.

Know what you mean..Hate it when that happens.

I was thinking he could put the fan on top which would most likely make room for the VRM fans..And flip the fan over..It would look better too I think, I dunno.

The NH-D15 should give you better temps over all due to more surface area.
