Hi! Could anyone please confirm, if the microphone that requires phantom power 48V works with the Nu Audio card. I think about buying a BM700 analog. It states it needs 48V, but has a normal TRS jack. Will Nu Audio Pro provide enough power for it to work or will that be a bad idea?

I don’t believe the microphone jack on Nu Audio provides power. I have never used a powered microphone, so I have no idea how to answer your question properly, but my assumption is that the Nu Audio card will not be suitable for the microphone without the proper equipment to power said microphone, which wouldn’t need the Nu Audio card inputs once the proper equipment is utilized. Again, that is just my assumption because I have no experience with them.

Quickly looking at the BM700 results online, the Nu Audio wouldn’t be what you need for this microphone. You would require the correct XLR connections to utilize the microphone.

It has a usual minijack connection instead of XLR one, so it gave me some hope. I failed to find a directional mic that doesn't need phantom power otherwise. Omnidirectional ones pick up room reverb and sound bad.

Don't want to start a new topic about microphones, so... I believe I need dynamic microphone. But will EVGA mic in be loud enough for it?
