No not normal operation. Depending on how much time has passed since purchase you should either contact place of purchase or gigabyte. place of purchase is usually 14 to 30 days depending on store. Anything else would be warranty through manufacturer. I do not believe gigabyte allows for you to remove coolers from gpu's. To my knowledge Evga is the only company that allows cooler or tim replacement without voiding warranty. Gigabyte forums would be best place for info on their warranty policy's. Regardless it also depends on you. do you feel you can troubleshoot the problem without causing additional damage? All companies will void warranty if you cause damage. Hope this Helps
