Giving a whirl on my X299 system. Good upgrade...only issue so far, I had to reinstall MSI Afterburner...got an error message on bootup that I had to restart it. Once reinstalled...all good. Will post any findings as I come across them. I don't mind being the lab rat!

T hose who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way. Affiliate Code: 3T15O1S07G

Yeppers moved to the ninth major updated version of Windows 10 yesterday using the Update Assistant only because it was not offered through Settings> Update. I did need to change the desired settings back within NVIDIA Control Panel for dynamic range and bit depth. The only fault I am getting is with SearchApp.exe but that is it so far. 🤞

I updated a couple hours ago using the "update assistant" update tool method. No issue's so far and the install worked fine. Took about 30 minutes from start to finish. I went from version 1909 to 2004. Looking over my Group Policy settings, most items I had set remained the way I had them. In the Services.msc settings, a few were how I had them, but many needed to be put back the way I want them. I did stop MSI AB from running during the update, as well as turning it off to load at startup after seeing BobMitch's post above. I did not have to reinstall it and it's working fine.

Upgrade worked on my laptop, but had an issue with music scheduling program that I use with client stations. Seems that the software requires a security USB key that has a driver. After upgrade...driver was missing...so when I reinstalled the security software...caused the machine to blue screen and never enter Windows again. Had to go back to 1909 from a backup I did just before upgrading. Not a pretty situation. I called the company that has the music scheduler...driver for the key was originally written for Windows XP and has worked to date....not a good sign. Oh well...perfection on two out of three...

NVIDIA driver 358.00 and older. The issue with Bluetooth has to do with some Realtek drivers so unless you are using a Realtek driver you should be okay. For the Thunderbolt issue Stop error when plugging or unplugging a Thunderbolt dock
Intel and Microsoft have found incompatibility issues when Windows 10, version 2004 (the Windows 10 May 2020 Update) is used with certain settings and a Thunderbolt dock. On affected devices, you might receive a stop error with a blue screen when plugging or unplugging a Thunderbolt dock. Affected Windows 10 devices will have at least one Thunderbolt port, have Kernel DMA Protection enabled and Windows Hypervisor Platform disabled. To verify your Kernel DMA Protection settings, please see How to check if Kernel DMA Protection is enabled. To verify your Windows Hypervisor Platform settings, select Start, type turn windows features on or off and select it. When the Windows Features dialog opens, find the setting for Windows Hypervisor Platform. If it is note checked, then Windows Hypervisor Platform is disabled. I also got tripped up by a BSOD from a USB security driver (aksfridge.sys), which I believe was installed with X-Rite i1Profiler. In my case, Windows installer tried to migrate the driver to v2004 but hit BSOD during the first reboot, resulting in automatic rollback to v1909. I installed an updated Sentinel HASP driver from Gemalto [link] and was able to successfully re-upgrade to Win10 v2004. Might be worth a try if your USB security key is from Aladdin/Sentinel/Gemalto.

Don't know how you found that. The music scheduler tech didn't even talk about this. I upgraded the driver on 1909 and the key is recognized. Gonna try the upgrade again and see how it goes...THANKS
