I am trying to see my FPS in the game Control and I am unable to get any monitor to work. I have tried Fraps, FPS Monitor, Precision X1, Steam, GForce Experience, none of them work. None of them will display the overlay in that game. They work in other applications, but not in the game Control. The FPS monitor in the HW monitor graph section of Precision doesent work either. It always shows 0 FPS.

MSI Afterburner with rivatuner statistics installed, or simply try enabling the steams in game fps counter.

If you only want FPS displayed, grab the Standalone Rivatuner Statistics Server and turn on "Show own statistics" in the settings.

You'll just get on-screen FPS display which you can move to any place on-screen using the up/down/left/right arrows and also change the font size with the "On-Screen Display zoom" in the settings.

I tried both of those and neither work. They work fine in other games, but not Control.

Wow..RivaTuner Statistics Server (RTSS) is the go-to monitoring software to use and usually works when others fail.

So be sure "Show On-Screen Display" in the top-left corner is on (is by default) and "Show own statistics" in the bottom-right corner is on.

The Known Limitations in the RTSS and Afterburner ReadMe (and may apply to other OSD software as well) says:

"RivaTuner Statistics Server can be incompatible with some third-party On-Screen Display software (e.g. XFire or Steam In-Game Chat). The limitation is not specific to our product, many third-party products are designed to be the only On-Screen Display products in the system and to block their own functionality when any other On-Screen Display software is running.
    • Framerate monitoring, On-Screen Display, screen capture, video capture and automatic profiles management functionality can be incompatible with some third-party On-Screen Display software (e.g. XFire or Steam In-Game Chat).
    • Anticheat systems of some online games may restrict On-Screen Display usage and block connection to the server when the RivaTuner Statistics Server is running.
    • Stealth hooking mode is currently not supported in 64-bit applications, so it is strongly not recommended to run other 64-bit OnScreen Display software in conjunction with RivaTuner Statistics Server."

    Adhere to all that.

If using another DirectX mode (DX11, DX12) in the in-game settings is an option, you can try changing that too, sometimes that works.

You might try Geforce experience and go to the settings, there is a FPS counter there that can be enabled in HUD settings within the in game overlay settings.

I dont know if this is an issue with DX12? I have tried other DX12 games and none of the FPS counters I have work with any of them.

Quick Google suggest something about a motion blur patch breaks overlays when using dx12 in control.
