Moving to the X299 dark, what do I do if the bios is not updated? Be using a 10920X, hated ryzen and coming back lol.

According to EVGA you should still be able to boot the system with the 10 series cpu, all features might not work correctly though until the newest bios are flashed.

**Cascade Lake-X CPUs can boot into the BIOS with older BIOS versions, but will not function properly until updated to at least version 1.19

And be sure to flash all 3 of the BIOS' to the latest (v1.21 as of now).

To do that, flash one BIOS as per instructions with the update.bat in the E299_flashtool and then move the BIOS Selector Switch to another BIOS and run the update.bat again.

If you can't get the board running right because the bios is out of date you might need to contact evga support to have a replaceable bios chip sent out with the latest version installed on it.

If the board doesn't post and kicks a DF error code, that's the bug in an older BIOS that shows up w/ a Cascade Lake X CPU.  Only options are either flash w/ an earlier supported CPU or contact evga support for an updated BIOS chip.
