Okay, so I'm in a bit of a bind with my graphics card. The short question is this: how do I get around nvflash's "Unable to set up NVFLASH driver (0x00000005) Detailed :Access is denied."? I've tried most everything; I'm using a Windows applicable version I got off of a website:

I've checked absolutely everything; nothing is read-only and I'm running everything in Administrator mode.
 
Assuming that I have no idea what I'm doing, however, here is a detailed explanation of the series of events that led me to this hell:
  • Video games were causing the GPU to stutter and reboot, preventing me from playing my quarantine video games.
  • I attempted to install new drivers. I received a 'failed to install' message from the installer I got directly from the NVIDIA website.
  • I attempted to perform a clean install. This left me with a black screen. I assume it never got the updated drivers, because it was black for over an hour and when I rebooted, I was running off of the default VGA display adapter. The device manager did not recognize my 760.
  • I read on a website that I could fix my ability to install drivers via updating my motherboard's BIOS. I updated those, but there was no effect.
  • I ensured proper power access and that it was mounted well. No issues with hardware, as far as I can tell.
  • My monitor is still plugged in to the GPU and running fine. All the fans are spinning also. I'm almost positive it isn't kill. 
All of the above led me to believe that the GPU's BIOS were borked. For a while leading up to this series of events, it would, about once a week, fill the screen with artifact dust for about 5 seconds before turning off and on, becoming fine.
 
So now I'm at the point where I'm trying to flash the VBIOS, but nvflash is giving me the big 'access is denied', and there isn't any solution available via google, as far as I can tell.
 
What do I do?

    I'll just go ahead and assume you have Windows 10..So, first and foremost, go to the Windows 10 Update Assistant and click Update Now to be sure you have the latest Win10 version..If you don't, you will get that "Driver failed to install" message from the installer.

    As for flashing the 760, I use NVFlash 5.165 for Windows to flash mine in Win7 or Win10 (64-bit)..Click Show more versions here to get it.

    Extract and put the nvflash_windows_5.165 on the Desktop.

    Put your VBIOS.rom into the nvflash_windows_5.165 folder (remame the VBIOS to something short/simple like GTX760.rom)

    Press the Widows Logo + R keys to open a run dialog.

    Type in cmd to open Command Prompt..Then type in or copy/paste in the following exactly as shown:
    cd desktop \nvflash_windows_5.165 (press Enter)
    nvflash --protectoff (press Enter)
    nvflash -4 -5 -6 GTX760.rom (press 'y' when prompted)
    Wait for flash to complete.
    nvflash --protecton --reboot (press Enter)
    Done.
     
    You should go into Device Manager first to right-click and Disable device (your GTX 760)..That unloads the NVIDIA Driver..Then flash..The Enable device again after auto-reboot.

    Try extracting nvflash to the desktop and simply dragging and dropping the .rom file onto the nvflash.exe.

    Yes, that works..I didn't tell you, I wanted you to learn the 'old school' way of working with command lines..If a BIOS ever gets borked, sometimes the only path to recovery is using DOS commands.
