Hello, I was hoping to get some feedback here. I recently bought a 2070 super FTW Ultra+ for my system. 3600x on an ASUS Tuf x570 mobo with 32gb of 3600mhz ram, 500gb Samsung nvme ssd, evga 750 watt g2 psu. I have noticed that in mechwarrior 5, in game it is always around 60-80 percent gpu usage. I have all power settings at prefer maximum performance, no vsync, and my FPS is at 150 roughly in non-demanding areas, and down to about ~75 in demanding areas. I have a 1080p 60hz monitor if that means anything (upgrading soon!). Interestingly, in the hangar I get about 96-99 gpu usage. I have tested Unigine Heaven and superposition, and get 99% usage as expected. Also, my 3600x isn’t anywhere near 100% usage, and all my temps are good, and the gpu is boosting as it should to 2070mhz with my overclock. I’m wondering if anyone has this issue- poor optimization on mechwarrior 5’s part? Driver issues? Thanks for any help!

Game/driver issue if not occurring over multiple games/apps.

Isn't lower GPU utilization a good thing if you can hit great FPS on high settings and details? That would mean the game engine is optimized for the GPU and not spending time drawing and shading triangles all the time, no?

Lower gpu utilization can mean bad optimization (game or driver), the game is more cpu bound, or your cpu is the bottleneck.

Yes, but I do not believe the 3600x would bottleneck the 2070 super?

I suppose then mechwarrior 5 is probably not very well optimized. Maybe nvidia’s newest driver which added dlss 2.0 support to the game messed something up.
