Hi all,

I have a gtx 1080 FE card. I believe its EVGA reference ID is 6180. To make it quieter and cooler, recently I replaced its FE default cooler by an ACX 3.0 cooler (EVGA ID 6181 including the thermal pads). Everything is OK except for the the fans... By the way, my warranty has expired and I know I'll be responsible for all I have done.

From my knowledge the fans of 6181 can automatically stop if the temperature is below a threshold you set. But my 6180 + ACX 3.0 cooler wouldn't: its fans would not stop even if the temperature is below 30 degree and yes I have already costumed the fan profile from the Precision or Afterburner.

So I guess maybe it is the vbios that controls if the fans could be stopped or not. I know flashing bios could be dangerous, so I'm wondering if I could flash a 6181 vbios file into my 6180 card?

Many thanks!

    Shouldn't be a problem.
