Both EA and Kojima Productions have pulled out of GDC 2020, cancelling all of their planned presentations and discussions. Both companies have cited Coronavirus as their reason for skipping GDC, with EA restricting all non-essential travel for its employees. 

GDC is due to take place between March 16th and March 20th, with the event hosting a variety of enhanced safety measures to alleviate health concerns. Right now, Sony, Facebook, EA and Kojima Productions have decided to skip GDC 2020, but as it stands, GDC will continue without them. 
 
This announcement comes following an outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Italy, leaving many concerned that Coronavirus will spread further before GDC begins next month. 
Companies like EA and Sony also plan to scale back their attendance of other industry events, including Pax East. Only time will tell whether or not Coronavirus will impoct further-off events like Computex and E3 2020.  
 
I really hope no other gaming companies pull out of the GDC 2020.

    Yeah, this is going to get worse... much worse... before it gets better.

    I agree big gathering of  people is just asking for a problem, wait and have the show later if it could happen

    After having survived the flu this year, the coronavirus can go crawl back under the Chinese rock it came from. Taking bets large venue events are going to have low attendance until it burns out.
