hello, I am having a problem with the vga white light on my motherboard coming on randomly. Was playing far cry 5 yesterday and the light came on so restarted my pc the light went off. played on the division last night and nothing no light came on, booted the pc up this morning before i even started a game up the light had already come on. So would to know if this is maybes a motherboard, graphics or driver related issue. I googled the board with the white light issue can't find nothing about it.

Windows 10 fresh install
Asus ROG Strix Z370-E Gaming
I7-8700k
Corsair vengeance 8GB*2 2666MHZ
Sound blaster Z
Samsung 960 evo
evga gtx 1080 ftw
evga 850 G2

Everything is new apart from the psu, graphics and sound card which i have had awhile now. I got the 1080 last yeat after i RMA my 980ti. PSU i have had for 3-4 years now, sound card about a year old. so if anyone could help me that would be great. thanks

    Here is your motherboard manual.

I would suggest that you contact ASUS for troubleshooting the motherboard Power On Self Test (POST) process and resulting error.

Thanks for that information. I have the manual in front of me which i got with the motherboard. The problem is not when booting everything seems to boot fine. The post will light up the following cpu (red), dram(yellow), vga(white) and boot(yellow green) in that order. after that all lights go out apart from the power led. The white led for the vga comes on randomly while i'm using the pc, random to the point i don't know what's causing it. thanks

also contacted asus just waiting for a reply from them.

Hey man, I know it's been almost a year over but I'm having the exact same issue right now. How did you solve the problem? Did you return the board or something? Much thanks.

I have the same exact issue using an ASUS ROG STRIX Z390 GAMING E and I have NO clue what causes this issue. I even replaced the motherboard with the same brand and it still shows up. It makes me think it's a firmware issue or video card. Not really sure. I should have reformatted but I have no clue what to do. EVGA Tech said I should either update bios or check if the card is UEFI and it is. I am just baffled. It usually goes away if I restart the PC. I never have issues with boot startup before for years and this is the first motherboard that would usually cause this. I am getting sick of it! I was told to update motherboard bios but I see no need if there is no issue with a bios update. I dunno if it will make any difference? I wish I can get someone to come and look at this issue. I don't wanna bring this case to a shop. Not to mention I still have display on my monitor. What I do notice on my monitor it says the display port is inactive few seconds upon boot then it shows up. No clue if it's the monitor or really the video card. I am using a EVGA 1660TI Ultra XC and a HPx25 144hz 1920x1080p monitor.

It stopped now for some reason. I caught my monitor having slight issues. It turns out the LED around the monitor flickers upon boot. It is an HPx25 1920x1080p 144hz monitor. I seriously need to stop purchasing monitors from Best Buy as last resort. I will stick with other places for better reference.

    These are my specs...

i7 8700k Processor. (No it's not overclocked) I had to get it because people love buying K series (snickers) I know I am lazy to overclock :D
Corsair Vengeance 16gig ram 3000mhz but running 2400mhz due to some instability. I will consider a matching dual channel ram to match my processor speed. This ram was not on the QVL list but who cares.
    Corsair Rmx 750 Gold Edition
    2 Samsung SSD, EVO 860 500GB and EVO 830 256GB (I know the 830 needs an upgrade)
    No hard drive (NEED ONE!)
    Corsair H100iv2 cooler.
    NZXT H700i case.

Recommend any better monitors? Please link away because I want a better one. I am running at 1.2 Display Port instead of HDMI since the monitor only supports 60hz if I use HDMI and the color looks crap with the HDMI. I rather display port only since my motherboard is Asus Rog Strix z390 Gaming-E and Display port supported in case I don't need to access the video card.

    Thanks!

Can never go wrong with the LG-27GL83A
Its my favorite monitor I have at the moment.
    A bit pricy though.
